IBCL / Hy-Drive & Supplementary Drive Training

 

 

 

 

 

 

Designed for members of staff who require gaining competence in installation and setting up of IBCL / Hy-Drive points with supplementary drives and detectors and adjustable stretcher bars.

Objectives:

At the end of this course successful delegates will be able to:
  • Carry out installation of IBCL / Hy-Drive points, including supplementary drives, supplementary detectors and adjustable stretcher bars
  • Carry out final checks and understand the requirements for the Testing and Commissioning of points to current Network Rail standards

Entry Requirements:

Ideally the candidate will have attended the Signalling Appreciation and Basic Diagram Reading courses prior to attending the IBCL FLFM course.

  • IBCL and Hy-Drive component variations
  • Differences between NR60 IBCL and UIC IBCL layouts
  • Mechanical and Electrical Operation
  • Mechanical and Electrical Installation
     - Install equipment to NR/GN/SIG/19808
     - Use NR/GN/SIG/11772 to calculate the free wheel clearance
     - Set up adjustable stretcher bars to NR/WI/SIG/10179
     - Set up supplementary drives, detection and FPL to NR/L3/SIG/10660
  • Identify defects likely to occur in point fittings and correctly check for them
  • Final checks including Testing & Commissioning
