The purpose of the regulations is to require precautions to be taken against the risk of death or personal injury from electricity during work activities. This course is designed for members of staff who work with voltages in excess of 175V. It covers the duties imposed on employers and employees in respect of electrical equipment and when working on or near electrical equipment.
At the end of the course, successful delegates will be able to safely carry out work and conduct testing on electrical equipment not exceeding 1000v in compliance within HSE guidelines and the Electricity at Work 1989.
OBJECTIVES:
On successful completion of this course, the delegate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the following · Work on voltages in excess of 175V. · Have an understanding of the Electricity at Work Regulations. · General awareness of the dangers of electricity. · Demonstrate by means of a theory assessment the difference between protective and local isolations.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Basic knowledge of Electrical Principles is ideal.
On successful completion all competent delegates will be issued a certificate of attendance.
